Compare SW Parallel Count I and II on one chart

SW Parallel Count can display variants I and II together on one price chart. This lets you inspect two sets of rules on identical bars without confusing different labels with different price data.

A practical tutorial for Student Wyckoff Pro. Text and translations were prepared with AI assistance.

Prepare one input chart

If you are updating a saved workspace, select its name and explicitly open it before configuring the comparison. Load an available ordinary instrument with open, high, low and close prices. Record its symbol, timeframe and selected history. Keep one chart and hide unrelated studies so their labels do not mix with Parallel Count.

Enable SW Parallel Count in the indicator panel. Do not substitute the SW Phase Count block: that is a different study. I/II here compares two variants of Parallel Count rather than these two indicators.

Select the built-in comparison

In Parallel Count’s calculation-profile list, choose the I and II comparison. Wait for the calculation to succeed. Start with only 13 or 9 and 13 as the display setting shared by the displayed variants.

Both result sets use the same loaded series. Keep the symbol, timeframe and history fixed. Changing them at the same time would make it unclear whether a difference comes from calculation rules or different inputs.

Identify the variant and date

In comparison mode, CⅠ and CⅡ identify the variant behind a label. Do not rely on colour alone. Find a labelled bar, point at it and record the date together with the variant and visible label.

Read both parts of the Parallel Count readout for that same bar. If a variant has no completed 13 there, record that absence. It is not proof of an error: the variants have different conditions, and a new 13 is not expected on every bar.

Inspect each variant separately

For a cross-check, select “DEMARK 1997 — Combo I”, then “DEMARK 1997 — Combo II”: these are the two profiles used by the built-in comparison. Keep the symbol, timeframe, history and display unchanged. After each calculation, return to the same dated area and write observations in two separate columns.

Restore comparison mode and match your notes to the labels. One interval cannot establish that I or II always completes earlier. This exercise checks how to read outputs; it does not measure profitability or the probability of a reversal.

Save the mode you checked

Before saving, restore the comparison profile and intended display. Check that the selected workspace is the one you opened at the start and intend to update. Do not load an older configuration after setting up the exercise: it replaces the current settings.

Save the final configuration, explicitly reopen it and check the profile, symbol, timeframe and labels. Resolve a loading failure before accepting the result. Saved settings do not turn historical labels into an instruction to trade.

Your next practical step

Use the workspace guide to open one chart, enable Parallel Count and fill two observation columns for the same bar.
