Prepare matching requests
Load an instrument that works for you and enable two charts with button 2. Enter the same ticker in both fields, choose the same timeframe, such as Day, and one history length.
Wait for loading and inspect the symbol, timeframe, last date and bar count in both summaries. Resolve differences or errors first. Changing timeframe and profile together would make the comparison harder to interpret.
Assign the first chart’s profile
Click the first chart or select it in Chart settings. Confirm SW Phase Count is enabled. Choose the DEMARK 1997 option in the ready-made calculation-profile field and wait for the reload to finish.
For the exercise, choose the 9-and-13-only screen. Note the extra-mark and lower-pane settings so the second chart can use the same display. Selecting a screen does not select a calculation profile.
Set the second chart separately
Switch Chart settings to the second chart. Choose STUDENT WYCKOFF — Standard and wait for loading. Keep the instrument and timeframe fields unchanged.
Use the same 9-and-13-only screen and matching extra display options. Select each chart in turn and read its current calculation-profile summary. This checks the loaded result, not just a dropdown selection.
Examine differences on specific dates
Find an area to inspect and check each chart’s bar dates. Shared zoom controls help show similar ranges but do not establish identical dates at each horizontal position.
Record which profile belongs to which chart and compare marks on the chosen dates. Use the relevant profile’s help to investigate a difference. Change one condition at a time so the cause of a changed display remains clear.
Save the profile pair
Name the workspace, for example Profile comparison, save it and wait for confirmation. Separate indicator settings are stored along with both instruments and timeframes.
After reopening, check both chart targets, profile names, matching data fields and screen presets again. Return to this saved state when continuing the same comparison.
Primary sources
Sources explain the mechanics and limitations; the editorial examples use invented numbers rather than market quotations.
Your next practical step
Open two charts of one instrument and match timeframe and history first. Then assign their profiles while keeping display settings consistent.
