Select, open and save a workspace: check the destination

The workspace list and its buttons do different jobs. Selecting a saved name chooses the record used by subsequent operations. To apply its saved analysis to the charts, choose Open separately.

A practical Student Wyckoff Pro tutorial. The text and translations were prepared with AI assistance.

Establish what is currently on screen

Before switching, check current instruments, timeframes and unsaved changes. If you need to keep the work, save it to the correct workspace before choosing another name.

Suppose analysis A is on screen and you select workspace B in the list. Changing the selection alone does not load B. The title may already change while the charts still show the previous state.

Open the selected record explicitly

Select the saved workspace and choose Open. Wait for loading, then check instruments, timeframes, one- or two-chart mode and indicator sets.

If loading fails, read the message and restore a successful result first. A selected name does not prove that its analysis opened. Record selection, data loading and the completed result are separate checks.

Check the destination before saving

When an existing workspace is selected, Save workspace writes the current content into that record. After choosing B, do not assume Save still writes the previous analysis A to its old destination.

Check the selected name and actual chart content together. To update B, open B first, make changes and save. Wait for confirmation and reopen the record if you want to verify the result.

Renaming updates the same workspace

To rename saved analysis, open it first and confirm the chart content. Edit the title field and save while the same record is selected.

A different title does not by itself create a copy. Saving an existing selected record updates both its name and current state. Use one window for the exercise so the save destination stays easy to follow.

Understand New and Delete

Choosing New workspace resets the current loaded analysis and drawings for a fresh start; it does not delete saved records. Save needed changes before that transition, then load an instrument for the new analysis.

Delete applies to the selected saved record. Use Open for ordinary switching. If creation or saving fails, read the access or workspace-capacity message rather than assuming a record was created.

Verify content after opening

A workspace stores instruments, timeframes, indicator settings, drawings and view ranges. It is not a frozen copy of quotes: opening loads data for the saved settings.

An appearance view stores layout and dimensions separately. Finish with this check: intended record, successful load, correct instruments and settings, then confirmed saving of changes.

Primary sources

Sources explain the mechanics and limitations; the editorial examples use invented numbers rather than market quotations.

Your next practical step

Explicitly open the intended saved record, check its charts, then update its content or name.
