Save and reopen a chart layout: workspace views versus saved workspaces

Your notebook needs one layout and a large screen needs another. Save both under clear names, then reopen the one you need. A workspace view controls presentation; it is not a copy of everything on your chart.

A practical guide to the current Student Wyckoff Pro controls. The two view names are illustrative. Text and translations were prepared with AI assistance and checked against the implementation; no account actions were performed.

Separate the two saving tasks

A workspace view stores appearance and dimensions. A saved workspace keeps the selected instrument, period, analysis tools and their parameters, manual points and drawings. Save the workspace separately when you want to resume that chart content.

Personal views require your account and access to the workspace. There are three named slots. They are separate from a watchlist and do not grant access to another person.

Save “Notebook” and “Large screen”

Open Appearance → My workspace views. Adjust workspace, chart and panel sizes, theme and font. Choose the first slot under “Workspace view”, enter “Notebook” in “View name”, then press “Save view to account”. Wait for the message confirming that this view was saved.

Change the dimensions for your larger screen. Choose a different slot, name it “Large screen” and save again. A name may contain up to 40 characters. Saving into the previous slot updates that view instead of creating another one.

Open a view and check the result

Choose “Notebook” in the list and press “Open selected view”. Selecting the list item alone changes the selected slot; it does not apply its appearance.

Check chart height, panel widths, theme and labels. Open “Large screen” with the same button and compare. The selected instrument and set of analysis tools should remain unchanged. The appearance panel may close if “Hide appearance panel after opening” is enabled.

What the saved view includes

Use this table to check the scope of the saved view. Opening it successfully does not establish that new quotes were loaded or that all account data was saved.

What the saved view includes

Quotes, access rights and an account backupNot established by saving a viewDo not treat a view as confirmation of those actions

When another window has changed the views

If the views changed in another window, do not keep saving the stale list. Press “Reload views”, select the intended slot again and check its name before saving.

An ordinary load or save error is not confirmation. Wait for a successful message, then reopen the selected view to check it.

A final practical check

Open both views in turn and confirm that presentation changes. To resume the same instrument, period and drawings, also save the workspace using the separate instructions below.

Views belong to your account. This exercise does not verify transfer to another computer, provide an offline backup or issue access rights.

Your next practical step

Open your workspace first, then save its chart content separately. The guide explains the three personal workspace views.
