Latest bar, All history and Load: three different actions

After panning, the last visible bar can be mistaken for the latest received bar. Three neighbouring controls do different jobs: move to the end of loaded history, fit its visible range or load data again.

A practical Student Wyckoff Pro tutorial. The text and translations were prepared with AI assistance.

Check instrument and timeframe first

Verify the ticker and daily, weekly or monthly timeframe. The history message contains instrument, timeframe, last-bar date and bar count. With two charts, check each summary separately.

The last-bar date and the timestamp shown with the snapshot and source are different information. A later snapshot timestamp does not by itself mean a new bar was added. Read the history date first.

Return to the latest loaded bar

Choose the latest-bar button. It moves the viewport to the last bar already loaded while keeping the time zoom. Use it after panning into older history.

It does not request new quotes or create an unfinished bar. If the last history date has not changed, moving right will not update it. In two-chart mode, the action applies to both charts.

Use All history to review the range

This button fits the available visible range of already loaded history. It helps restore an overview after zooming closely into an area.

It does not add years beyond the chosen history length. To request another length, change History and load the data. Changing the view and changing the data request are separate actions.

Load again to check data

Check instrument, timeframe and history length, choose Load and wait for completion. After success, check the last-bar date and data message again.

The platform uses completed history for the selected timeframe. Reloading does not promise a new bar: the source may return the same last completed range. Resolve a loading error before trying to change the view.

Recheck dates after opening a workspace

A workspace stores analysis settings and view ranges, not a frozen copy of quotes. Opening it loads data for the saved selection. Its history date and snapshot timestamp may therefore differ from the previous opening.

Use this short check: intended instrument and timeframe, successful load, last-bar date, then navigate to it. Save any changed workspace selection after confirming the result.

Sources explain the mechanics and limitations; the editorial examples use invented numbers rather than market quotations.

Your next practical step

Compare navigating to the last bar, fitting the range and loading data on your chart. Check the history-date message after each action.
