What it shows
Draws a smoothed closing-price average that gives more weight to recent values. At the same period it generally responds faster to a new price change than a simple average, while also reacting to short fluctuations.

How to read it
Observe slope, persistence and price’s distance from the line. Faster response does not make every crossing an independent signal. With a short loaded history, the line may still be forming; compare instruments using the same period and enough data.
Available controls
Period 20 by default, colour and line width.
