Draw a three-point channel and adjust its boundaries

The Channel tool has three anchors with different roles. The first two define one boundary; the third positions its parallel boundary. Practise on any loaded section. You choose the shape; the tool is not automatically finding a pattern.

A practical Student Wyckoff Pro tutorial. The text and translations were prepared with AI assistance.

Fix the context and first two points

Select the active chart and check the instrument and timeframe. Choose two different time positions for the first boundary. Start with clearly visible bars within the loaded range.

The first two anchors must not have the same time position. If the second click is at the same position, the tool reports it and rejects that pair. Move to another date instead of repeating the same click.

Use the third point to set width

Select Channel and click the first and second anchors in order. Place the third point away from the resulting line. It determines the offset of the parallel boundary.

A third point on the initial line produces zero or barely visible width. Rather than adding another channel, adjust the existing object’s third anchor first.

Move the intended anchor

Return to the selection arrow and left-click the channel. Moving the first or second anchor changes the initial boundary’s direction. The third changes the distance to its parallel boundary.

Drag the object itself to move the entire annotation. Distinguish this from moving one anchor. Recheck all three points after editing, particularly if the channel becomes narrow or changes direction.

Set extensions and style separately

With the channel selected, open settings using the three-slider button. Check left and right extension, colour, width and available fill. Extension changes the visible boundary length, not the anchor dates you chose.

With no channel selected, settings apply to new drawings. Select the existing object before editing its style. A manual channel remains an annotation; its anchors do not change indicator calculations.

Save this channel

Save the workspace and wait for confirmation. Reopen the same instrument, timeframe and chart. Check all three anchors, width and extension settings.

To remove only this channel, select it and use the trash button. Undo can correct the last action. Clearing every drawing is a separate operation and is unnecessary when fixing one boundary.

Sources explain the mechanics and limitations; the editorial examples use invented numbers rather than market quotations.

Your next practical step

Build one channel on a loaded chart: two different dates set direction, the third point sets width. Save and check it afterwards.
